About Me

From a very young age I have been around gardens and come from a family of keen gardeners. My earliest memory is my nanny's rose garden which is where my love of roses must have come from….

For most of us though gardening doesn’t truly take hold until later in life, which was where I then picked it up again. I am a mum of one beautiful little girl called Rose and now live on the Suffolk coast with my partner Mike and puppy Roxy.

After 2 years at home with my baby I wanted to get back to work, not on a full-time basis just a little part time job that I enjoyed and would fit with family life. At the time we were in North Essex and Beth Chatto’s Garden had recently been shown on Gardeners World. Then and there I knew I wanted to work there and after pestering by phone and email for a few weeks the rest as they say is history!

My passion and total addiction for plants took hold and I was known for buying a ridiculous amount each week!! Latin was learnt as my second language, well with a few oddly pronounced names by me on the way, which always created a giggle! I really was amongst the best gardening minds in the industry and learnt so much in the 4 years I was there. I was lucky enough to meet Beth before she died, I felt I was in the presence of real royalty.

‘Right Plant Right Place’ will never leave me it was drummed into us and how plants worked and looked good together.

When covid struck like many of us life changed, so we decided to move up to the Suffolk Coast where we had spent so much time. I was commuting to Beth’s for a while, but it became very hard to manage with family life.

This was when Living Gardens was launched as my own business and for nearly 3 years I have been maintaining, improving and helping design/layout some truly beautiful gardens.

Fast forward 7 years later I’m now moving into Garden Border Designs as I feel there is a need to help clients make sense of their current borders and what works in the space they have at an affordable cost. After Beth’s I went on to formally study and pass with the RHS level 2 which covered Garden Maintenance, Garden Design & Fruit & Veg growing and just want to keep learning!

I’m still in love with what I do, and I would like to share my passion with you.

It really will improve your life!

Love Lisa xx

Thank you so much for all that you have done. Garden looks amazing. Thanks again - really nice to have met you and your team 😊

“Lisa is that rare combination of someone who loves making a difference in the garden, with a wealth of knowledge of plants – a true plantsman who can work magic in the garden. This skill is combined with a practical approach working with the garden and all its challenges and limitations to create something that compliments the house and surroundings”.

Living Garden Halesworth stepped in to help us get ready and ship shape for our daughter’s wedding. They transformed the beds in no time to create a magical tulip-filled setting for speeches and photographs.

Lisa has a deep and rare knowledge of all thing’s plants. This allows her to make the best of what you already have through re-positioning and re-hab, as well of course as advising on anything new – what will flourish in the space you have. And she does this with clarity, integrity and most importantly, friendliness. We trust her completely.I have no hesitation in recommending – I guarantee things will look better, quickly!

Lisa is a one in a million precious gem of a talented Gardener in both design and maintenance. She has a rigorous training behind her from her time with Beth Chatto resulting in an encyclopaedic knowledge of all things plants, flowers and gardens.

You will discover very quickly on meeting Lisa, and if you are lucky enough to book her, that all things gardening and plants both creatively and practically are not just a job for her - it is her passion which she lives and breathes.

I feel very grateful that we found Lisa and would not hesitate in highly recommending her personally and professionally. She is easy going, friendly and doesn’t create dramas - she just finds solutions and then loves getting on with the work.

Lisa has been helping me with my garden for over two years now and I do not know how I ever managed without her. She is everything you could ask for in a gardener and more. She is hard working, enthusiastic, reliable, flexible and loyal. She knows a huge amount about plants and their habitats and most importantly how to care for them. She makes excellent suggestions about ways to improve the garden and then does them! If you manage to secure her help, lucky you.
